Synopsis

With Pandemic triggered by the new coronavirus SARSCoV-2, which causes Covid-19 disease, the Portuguese Society of Occupational Safety and Hygiene was forced to keep the Symposium in a virtual format to continue with the 17th edition of International Symposium on Occupational Safety and Hygiene - SHO 2021. Initially scheduled for October, it was postponed to the 17th to 19th of November 2021, in an online edition. However, despite all these changes, it was tried to maintain the
general structure of the event.

The 2021 edition covers the traditional themes of Safety, Prevention Management, Chemical and Biological Risks, Ergonomics, and the Occupational Environment. In addition to these subjects, emerging areas associated with the 4th Industrial Revolution, Collaborative Robotics and IoT, as well as the new challenges it entails, are addressed in the plenary sessions.
